Home-boarding inspection readiness checklist
A practical prompt for gathering records, testing what another authorised person can retrieve and preparing useful questions for your licensing officer.
Records and the physical checks stay distinct
Software can help organise evidence; it cannot inspect a gate, room, temperature or staff interaction. The printable checklist deliberately separates record preparation from the walk around your premises.
- 01
Licence and operating scope
Check the displayed licence, website details, permitted activity, premises and maximum dog numbers against the current conditions.
- 02
Records, retention and backup
Make sure records are legible, retrievable, retained for the required period and backed up where they are electronic.
- 03
The register for each dog
Follow one recent stay from arrival and dog details through owner, emergency contact, vet, health, diet and consent records.
- 04
Vet and medication arrangements
Confirm the agreed vet, owner consent, veterinary directions, secure storage and a clear record of each administration.
- 05
Daily welfare evidence
Check that feeding, exercise, toileting, welfare checks, abnormalities and action taken can be traced to a dog and date.
- 06
Compatibility, incidents and emergencies
Review written consents, separation, admission checks, emergency plans and the completeness of any incident record.
- 07
Premises, people and higher standards
Walk the physical environment separately, review staff evidence and agree which higher standards you are seeking to demonstrate.
Explore sample data before using your own
