Council licence register
Looking for a licensed home boarder—or checking how your own business appears? Start with the register published by the local authority that grants the licence.
There is no single complete national search for home-boarder licences. Councils publish their records in different ways, and some do not publish a searchable list. This index brings together our detailed Manchester and Cheshire licensing guides and useful official-register examples across every English region. It is a starting point, not a claim that every business in that region appears here.
Start with the guide for your authority, then open its current official page before applying or renewing.
Manchester uses a common animal-licence application route and says premises are inspected before a licence is granted.
